To make the highest possible impact on making a Better Tomorrow for Orphansand those in need, we are stepping up progress by developing breakthrough ideas and finding solutions which will amplify our campaign for better provisionsto help those who are vulnerable – not just in least developed countries but also in the UK where the cost of living crisis in a post-Covid world has caused an unprecedented increase in poverty.
Giving Sadaqah’s primary focus is to empower communities across the globe to promote sustainable change by providing access to free education and welfare for orphans and those in need through our sponsored and managed schools.
Somaliland’sMinistry of Education ranked one of our sponsored Schools (teaching National curriculum Primary education with options for Quran Hifz learning) as the Highest Ranking in 2022 for Best Support & Learning Outcomes which won the Best School Award.
Whilst the focus and target destinations for the majority of our on-going projects have been in Somaliland as our Founding area of need and requirements, our global outreach volunteers have successfully managed to establish links and oversee projects in other additional countries.
There are so many ways to make a positive change – not just to those who are in need by giving sadaqah but forourselves and our own mental well-being as anyone can face severe challenges in life that come at unexpected moments. The Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) said, “Give sadaqah (charity) without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.” [Al-Tirmidhi]

Giving Sadaqah helps those in need from the community in a number of ways, though our focus is on providing direct welfare support to Orphans and vulnerable families as well as access to free education.
Everyday there are over 5,500 children who become orphans globally [Source: UNICEF]. A child could be considered an orphan if one parent has died, especially if that parent was the bread-earner for the family.
Countries in sub-Saharan Africa, such as Somalia, Ethiopia and other least developed countries where we try to help Orphans, live in unhealthy conditions without easy access to clean drinking water. This leads to malnutrition and early death for many.
By keeping our commitment to sustainable development through education, Microfinance and several other projects we are able to enhance the quality of their lives where they can navigate independently as maturing adults.
We coordinate our activities from our London office and via our regional teams and committees in Somaliland, Ethiopia and more increasingly in other South-East Asian countries where our networks are growing.
Our charitable work is financed from contributions and generous donations from members of the public. All our Trustees and volunteers who see to the running of the organization from the UK are committed to the 100% Donations Policy and not salaried.
We are hoping to establish a “Giving Sadaqah” charity shop in London where we may further assist the local community with our recycled clothing project, “GLOWEAR”.
Giving Sadaqah’s founding projects have all been in Somaliland where the needs outstretch the available resources.
Whilst we continue to grow our support and networks into other least developed countries, we rely on the generosity of Donors to make this happen with our 100% Donations Policy.
Our Schools are in need for much Refurbishments and Expansion. Although the land is available relatively cheaply from generous Land-owners and neighbors from within the community, the cost of raw materials and the labour-intensive tasks due to lack of adequate machinery make such projects very challenging.
